Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
At SeeIG.com ("SeeIG", "we", "us", or "our"), your privacy is a core part of the product, not an afterthought. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how advertising and cookies work on our site, and the choices and rights you have over your data. By using SeeIG, you agree to the practices described here.
Who We Are
SeeIG is a free, web-based tool for viewing and downloading publicly available Instagram content anonymously. You do not need an account to use SeeIG, and we never ask for your Instagram login or password. This policy applies to the SeeIG.com website and the pages and features served from it.
Information We Collect
SeeIG is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. We do not require registration and we do not ask for your name, address, or phone number. The limited information involved in running the service includes:
- Log and technical data: Standard server logs may include a hashed (anonymized) IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and timestamps. We use this only for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
- Cookies and similar technologies: Small files stored in your browser used for essential site functionality, analytics, and advertising (see the Cookies and Advertising sections below).
- Aggregate usage statistics: Anonymous, non-identifying counts (such as how many searches were performed) that help us understand demand and improve the service.
We do not collect or store the contents of the Instagram profiles you look at in a way that is tied to your identity, and we do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves.
How We Use Information
We use the limited data described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the SeeIG service;
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and automated scraping, and enforce daily rate limits;
- Monitor and improve site performance, reliability, and user experience;
- Display advertising that helps keep SeeIG free (see below).
Cookies
SeeIG uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to work, such as remembering your dark-mode preference and your daily search count for rate limiting.
- Analytics cookies — help us measure aggregate, anonymous traffic so we can improve the site.
- Advertising cookies — set by our advertising partners (including Google) to help show relevant ads and measure ad performance.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. If you disable essential cookies, some features of SeeIG may not work correctly.
Advertising and Google AdSense
SeeIG is supported by advertising, which is how we keep the service free. We use Google AdSense and may use other third-party ad networks to display ads.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to SeeIG or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to SeeIG and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices (or youronlinechoices.eu in the EU).
For more detail on how Google handles data when you use sites that show its ads, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Consent for EEA, UK and Swiss Visitors
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we (and our advertising partners) ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, including advertising cookies, as required by law. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the privacy or cookie controls on the site, or through the browser and opt-out links above.
Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google AdSense — to display advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics (if enabled) — for aggregate, anonymized traffic measurement.
- Cloudflare — for security, DDoS protection, and content delivery.
Beyond standard request data (such as IP address and user agent), we do not share personally identifying information with these providers, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Data Security
We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all connections. IP addresses are hashed before storage, and administrative access is protected by two-factor authentication and strong password hashing. While no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, we take reasonable, industry-standard measures to protect the limited data we hold.
Data Retention
We keep data only as long as needed. Rate-limit counters reset daily. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics may be kept indefinitely. Server and scraper logs are rotated regularly (typically within 30 days). If you email us, we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your request.
Children's Privacy
SeeIG is not intended for, or directed to, children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because SeeIG collects so little personal data, most of these rights are satisfied by default — but you can contact us at any time to exercise them.
Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and why, the right to request deletion, the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email us with the subject line "CCPA Request".
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site. Your continued use of SeeIG after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your data, contact us at contact@seeig.com. We aim to respond within 24–48 hours.
